How
much time do we spend working in office? Let’s say on an average people work 8
hours a day, 52 weeks yearly, and 2087 hours per year. Most of the time we are
spending, working with our coworkers than others in our lives. We all have experienced
working hours and hours on projects, killing the sleep, doing late night
deployments, odd time conference calls, early morning meetings, high priority
production issues, packed deadlines, presentations etc. What does an employee
want when he or she walks that extra mile to finish a task? Is it bonus? No, it
is Recognition! Yes an employee wants to be acknowledged for good performance
and hard work. It gives immense satisfaction and heightens the level of
commitment to the organization.
There
are various options for recognition and rewards that an organization may adopt but
one my favorite salesforce feature is recognition. Recognition in salesforce
allows you to use unlimited badges to thank your coworkers. For every thanks
you post you can send a custom message to the giver or even design your own
badges. Managers can pull reports and
dashboards to view recognition data .This gives a good visibility on individual
performance.
Badges
are the visual graphic pictures that represents a person’s achievements.
Let us learn more about this feature in Salesforce-

recognition tab you will find the list of all the recognitions that you have received
from your coworkers or manager.

How to Change
Badge?
Salesforce
provides 12 standard badges that you can select for thanking your coworkers.
It
also allows you to create your own custom badge with unique picture.
How to create your own custom badge?
Go
to Badge Tab and select new. You can also delete salesforce standard tabs and create your all custom badge library. Limit the visibility of badge to company or selected group of users. You can find these settings while creating a badge.
Congratulations!
You have just made your first Salesforce Badge.
Click
on chatter thanks to find your new badge in the list.
As an admin, I would like my users to see the"Thanks" feature first in the list of publisher actions, for this Go to Setup-> Global actions-> Publisher layouts
Find the new place for your "Thanks" feature on publisher actions.
The current limitation of giving badges is one user at a time. You can hide the "Thanks" feature in the publisher for users by changing profile visibility settings. From this article we learned posting your thanks directly to the chatter feed and recognizing your co workers with work.com badges.
